Hello and welcome to the first post of this blog! I'm starting this blog to encourage and educate dancers of all ages to continue their ballet training for their entire life. Maybe you started as a child, stopped dancing, then returned - or never stopped! Or took it up as an adult. You may be a dance teacher who is interested in continuing your own technique. It may be a relaxation activity for you. I have always been a firm believer in dancing your entire life
Whatever your background or reasons, I hope to touch on a variety of issues - the experiences and unique challenges you encounter dancing as an adult, the challenges you've faced this past year with Covid-19 protocol, answering a ballet training related question for you or your child, injury prevention, dancer health, etc. . .
With many years of teaching, I'll share my thoughts and insights, articles and photos.
In future, this blog will be open to questions, etc., but for now, I'd like to start with a
link to an article on the physical and mental benefits of ballet training. I hope you find it interesting and helpful.
In the meantime, keep doing those stretches! If you have a question or a topic you'd like addressed here, please email me at: shawkins248@comcast.net
